As he Plans the DC Training And Development Services Scarbrough Stakes clive Cox’s Tis Marvellous Wants to bounce back by a run in the Beverley Bullet.

Despite heading to post as the 2-1 favourite coming house fifth of 10, the five-year-old had travelled to Beverley the rear of a victory in a tradition handicap off at Ascot, with finished second in the Wokingham at the Royal meeting.
“He won well at Ascot, then didn’t get the easiest of passages in the Beverley Bullet,” said Cox.
“He has come back in excellent form, he’s had a fantastic season so this may be a great prospect for him”
El Astronaute, educated by John Quinn, will measure back down to Listed company as he tries to claim the race this past year, that he lost by a head.
The six-year-old has competed with varied success and was beaten by Worldwide Applause in last year’s contest.
The boy of Approve finished second in the Group Two Sapphire Stakes.
During that bout of shape he outperformed three of the Scarbrough competitions – Duke Of Firenze, Dark Shot and Equilateral.
“We’re very satisfied with him and he really likes Doncaster,” explained Quinn.
“He ran really well in the race last year. Tis Marvellous will be the one they have got to beat, his shape is extremely good.”
Equilateral hasn’t been seen since his encounter with El Astronaute at the Curragh, where he finished three and a half lengths behind John Quinn’s gelding and seven lengths behind the winner.
The colt was second to Mabs Cross in the Group Three Palace House Stakes at Newmarket, missing out by a mere neck.
Speaking of his Scarbrough entrance, trainer Charlie Hills said:”It is the race we’ve been awaiting.
“Obviously he has won in the monitor before, it’s a race he should be operating very well in.”
Elsewhere over five furlongs is the Michael Dods-trained Queens Gift, second to Judicial from also a yearlong winner and the Beverley Bullet in the line-up this year.
Scott Dixon’s Dark Shot, David Griffiths’ Duke Of Firenze along with James Fanshawe’s Archer’s Fantasy are also in the combination, together with the latter appearing to return to shape after his three-race winning streak came to a conclusion when ninth in the Group Three Summer Stakes at York.
