Mauricio Pochettino states Kieran Trippier attempted to get him to clarify he felt that his words was”twisted” while on international duty, when he appeared to criticise the club’s handling of his departure.
The England right-back claimed last week that he”did not really get an answer” if he asked the chairman Daniel Levy about his future in the summer, before a 22m change to Atletico Madrid.
Pochettino revealed Trippier delivered a text this week to him but he didn’t get it leaving Harry Kane to pass about the message on the player’s return from duty.
The Spurs boss explained:”I did not see [Trippier’s remarks ], but I noticed about it. I am able to explain how I really feel. We had a conversation at which he said he went to go to Atletico Madrid – nothing much longer.
“Yesterday (Wednesday) if Harry Kane arrived back he said to me’did you receive Kieran’s text?”’ I said’no’ because I changed my number. Maybe because he doesn’t have the amount that is new.
“Since he believe his words were twisted – I do not know nothing more. This message was translated by kieran Harry Kane to me. He wished to inform me. However, I’ve got no problem.

“There’s no point to talk about whether something happened or did not happen. The fact is 1 simple fact, but who is in all this procedure? There’s no point in talking. But I keep very good memories out of him.”
“After the summer he came to visit me, he asked me to get a meeting and stated’gaffer, I think I’ve a good possibility and for different reasons I would love to take the offer in Atletico Madrid’.
“He didn’t ask me nothing – only hauled whether the club were planning to take the offer. Nothing more.
“It was not a conversation – you want me? Or you don’t want me? It had been so obvious. When I had lots of different options, Davinson Sanchez, together with Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters he played the closing. However he played the closing. My actions talk more than my mouth”
