Liverpool are already too far before their Premier League contests to be captured this year, according to former Reds goalkeeper Chris Kirkland.
Following the champions suffered a shock defeat to Wolves at the 26, last weekend moved eight points clear of Manchester City.
Liverpool held a seven-point lead over City midway through last year before losing the title by one point on the campaigns last day.
However, Kirkland believes his team are far ahead this season to let another comeback to City.
When asked if the Premier League name is really on its way to Anfield, Kirkland said:I honestly do think its.
Last year was so unlucky. Folks state losing by one stage was catastrophic, I would rather have lost than be 15, 16 points behind City.
I believe with Citys injury issues they have got at the trunk, [Aymeric] Laporte is a huge miss, Vincent Kompany is a massive overlook for them. At the back its possible to get at them.
If we perform with them, if we could take points off them all the sudden you are talking double amounts. Could you find us losing five or four games this year? Not how we are playing.
Liverpool have the chance to break the Premier League record of 18 wins and have won eight of the league matches this year.
The Reds can match Citys listing should they overcome bitter rivals Manchester United at OId Trafford on October 20, live on Sky Sports.
What a place to do it. You wouldnt put it past them, added Kirkland.
Manchester United are going through a difficult bout but Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] will be certain theyre up for this particular match.
The fans know what that means but I expect people to move there and get a result, I just dont think they can prevent us.
How we proceed forward, the way we defend, we are strong all over the pitch. I believe we will find the three points.
