Home Run Derby has been a short lived television show that ran just 1 season (1960). Hall of Famers Hank Aaron and Duke Snider were paired in 1 episode, and united with four homers. Even the Cleveland Indians hit 4 HR in the first two innings of Thursday’s series opener at New York from the Yankees, leaving me to wonder what the squads may do for an encore after joining for 10 long balls at the matchup.
With the MLB Network available to talk about launch angles and leave velocities, Friday’s fracas features newcomer Aaron Civale (1-1, 1.00) around the bulge for its visiting Indians and Masahiro Tanaka (8-6, 4.64) up next for the Yankees. New York opened on a -145 currency line, that number climbing into the -150s overnight, and it’s no real surprise to observe that the 101/2-operate total juiced to the’finished’ at some stores.
