Week 3 of the NFL Preseason kicks off Thursday night with six games to the card. The Carolina Panthers and New England Patriots have been in activity for exactly what folks refer to rehearsal. I dont know about that in this case. Tom Brady could or might not perform in this match. Its not much of a dress rehearsal without Brady carrying a snap.
Brady has said he wishes to find some snaps in the preseason, but Bill Belichick has not disclosed much. The Patriots have appeared great despite not playing in the preseason. Depth doesnt look as a problem for the Patriots, particularly due to their defense thats currently going to be useful in the regular season.
The Patriots enter using wins within the Lions of 31-3 and also 22-17 over the Titans at the preseason. They seemed sharp and crisp in both matches on the road. The Lions didnt come close to scoring a touchdown since the Patriots came close to pitching a shutout. Note that Brady hasnt played a down, so they did just fine using the backups playing.
Brian Hoyer has plenty of expertise from the NFL, so if he gets the beginning here, its not likely to be anything new for him. Cam Newton hasnt played in the preseason also. He is coming from a shoulder injury that severely restricted his capacity to zip around the ball .
Newton will get a chance to shake the rust off . He played through the injury if he shouldnt have. The Panthers werent a playoff contender, therefore pushing Cam wasnt a move that is good. Ron Rivera has said that Newton will perform series from the Pats.

This is a chance for Cam convince himself using an NFL area and to shake the rust off. Nothing is going to be too exotic to your offense in this area. Grier does not have exactly the capability to run about and make something from nothing. The Chiefs were smart by implementing components of Mahomes offense.
This offense in Carolina is constructed across Cam Newton. Grier will have to show a lot more before he has offensive coordinators structuring a playbook. Grier is coming off a performance that is shoddy, as he passed for 75 yards with an interception on passing. I dont have much faith in Kyle Allen and Tyler Heinicke against this New England shield that is deep as well.
Who I do have faith in his Patriots rookie Jarrett Stidham. I enjoyed Stidham when he was among those quarterbacks to find out the Alabama defense if he had been in school and that I like his outlook. Stidham was talked about frequently during the college football season, but everyone seemed to forget about him, when it was completed. The Patriots scooped him up at the fourth-round and so far so great in New England.
Stidham followed it up and passed for 179 yards and a touchdown against the Lions. Stidham torched the Titans for 193 yards and a touchdown. Spreads are coated and blown by 4th quarter play in the preseason. Night I have more confidence at the Patriots backups to outperform the Panthers.
