When youre in the present time and youre there youre just so focused because were so fine-tuned as professional athletes, then you have got to be more focused on your job, he told Sky Sports.
You cannot think about the size of the event. And for me, the purpose at the Champions League final it is something that you dream of but once I scored it you were in the moment. It is not as you can explain.
We are so concentrated, and it ruined my dream of enjoying half an hour at a Champions League final because when Teddy (Sheringham) equalised I thought:Wow, those 30 minutes of additional time will make me a better participant
But I scored the target and it didnt make me a much better player. Playing 30 minutes extra at a Champions league final could have been great experience for me personally but I would rather spend the goal.
