Mauricio Pochettino says Kieran Trippier attempted to contact him to explain he felt his words were”twisted” while on international duty, when he appeared to reestablish the club’s managing of his departure.
The England right-back maintained last week that he”didn’t really get an answer” when he asked the chairman Daniel Levy regarding his future in the summer, before a #22m change to Atletico Madrid.
Pochettino disclosed Trippier delivered him a text but he did not receive it after numbers, leaving Harry Kane to pass from duty.
The Spurs boss explained:”I did not see [Trippier’s remarks ], but I learned about it. I can explain how I really feel. We had a dialogue where he clarified he was going to go to Atletico Madrid – nothing longer.
“Yesterday (Wednesday) when Harry Kane arrived back he said to me’did you get Kieran’s text?”’ I said’no’ because my number changed. Perhaps because he doesn’t have the number that is brand new.
“Since he believe his words were I don’t understand nothing more. Kieran translated this message throughout Harry Kane . He wished to inform me. However, I’ve got no problem with Kieran.
“In football decisions occur and gamers move from one club to another. We will need to proceed and what happened , happened and be happy there and he needs to consider Atletico Madrid.
“There’s no point to speak about if something happened or did not happen. The fact is who’s right in all this procedure, although 1 simple fact? There is no use in talking. But I keep great memories from him.”
“After the summer he came to visit me, he asked me to get a meeting and said’gaffer, I believe I’ve a good possibility and for different reasons I would like to accept the offer in Atletico Madrid’.
“He did not ask me – just hauled whether the team were going to accept the deal. Nothing more.
“It wasn’t a conversation – you need me? Or you do not want me? It was so clear. When I had lots of options, with Serge Aurier, Kyle Walker-Peters, Davinson Sanchez he performed the final. However he played the closing. My activities speak over my mouth.”
