Marcus Tregoning Intends to take Mohaather Stakes at Ascot on Champions Day, without the Help of a prep run.
A winner of the Greenham Stakes on his debut, and he was well fancied to the 2000 Guineas, Mohaather has been kept off by injury.
Because those behind that afternoon in Newbury included Haydock Sprint Cup winner Hello Youmzain, it has been difficult to bear for Tregoning.
“The plan with him is that he will visit the QEII – that’s what we’re trying to do,” explained Tregoning.
“I don’t really need to have a run in to him first. He is not that difficult to get match fit, so I do not require a run and I will get loads of work .
“It’s been dry ground for most of the summermonths, and I am not sure he wants it too business. It won’t be at that time .
“Just as we understand, the Greenham form looks all straight – horses which finished behind him have come out and won Group Ones, therefore it probably was a good race.
“It was a carrying operation, and I would really like to acquire the QEII together with him.”
